My Mindset – Books That Helped Me Change
What is our mindset’s conditioning?
What’s your mindset’s conditioning?
All that good stuff and bad stuff and mediocre stuff, stuffed somewhere in the unseen sections of our subconscious BIG brain.
Big brain…small brain ….medium sized brain it’s all a brain!
But a very, very powerful tool, that needs to be mastered by us.
Otherwise…something else will master it, for better or worse – as the saying goes.
In the USA wedding vows may take the following form: I, so and so, take you, so and so, to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
In the United States of Brain, Brain wedding vows go something like this: I, BIG Brain, take you, LITTLE Brain, to be my lawfully wedded SMALL Brain, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,… (Hence richer or poorer)… in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
You see? You can’t escape your brain. It goes everywhere with you. Even when you not using it.You can get away from your wife’s or husband’s nagging for a hot minute, but you can’t get away from your brains nagging!
Well you might just beable to cloud it up for some time putting it on pause or confusion mode (through drugs & alcohol), but when it clears up…oh boy you better be ready for some serious pain and nagging.
Imagine if we could just visit an online store and shop for a new brain?
WOW…how would that be?
Maybe in the future some distant future… I don’t know I’m no scientist.
I reckon we’d all opt for a high speed brain though, with all the best qualities fast, excellent memory capacity etc.
And you know the price…right…you know the price would be extortion – Mafia style!
Imagine going into the store and telling the shop assistant , “Hi I’d like a brain that can think like a billionaire and make money ideas consistently” or “ Hi I’d like a brain that enables me to”… I don’t know! It’s starting to sound like …a robot…oh yeah a robot Brain just update whatever you want into it and there you go, something like the matrix where Neo gets an update of all the martial arts fighting techniques.
Pretty scary stuff eh? I think were blessed just to have our normal brains just how they are with their defects here and there.
(Our brains do take some knocks though just look at Alzheimer’s disease sufferers – poor people.)
(Or folks addicted to drugs or alcohol or gambling or any of the destructive actions to the brain.)
But nope…one brain…and that’s what we’ve got to work with, so knowing this, shouldn’t we seek to protect it and feed it well?
Was there a problem?
Is that why I WANTED TO change my mindset?
Well I’m sure there was problematic events in my life, which I didn’t know how to react to and other events that I so badly wanted to change about myself, like being in dead end jobs, but who put me there in the first place?
Yes ME…I put myself there…due to a lack of knowlegde or making very poor decisions and thinking very poorly.
You see the true saying goes, “you reap what you sow”…It’s so true…the way we think is the way we react and that’s what brings about these crappy situations we get ourselves into.
NO more I want out!
Well I said NO…NO…NO More I want out…I want change…and kept telling the big brain this until some droplets of change started to appear.
It really is amazing how things can turn around for better or worse just by making the intention and making the decision to do something about it. Instead of just hanging around like a monkey waiting for bananas to drop out of the sky…maybe bird shit…but no bananas let alone money to buy the bananas.
Action, Action, take action.
Which action comes first though?
The doing? The saying? The believing? The asking?
It’s the knowledge of awareness, for example we don’t like where we are in life right now, and our outer world, then how do we change it?
It’s to be aware of what’s holding us back, and strive to change those inner thoughts, because really and truly it all starts from within us.
So once I realised and I am telling you I am still to this day realising what’s been holding me back. I work on the inner thoughts I hold first to change my outer world…and it is like the best free remedy to problems or anything that’s bugging you.
But we need some directions and I found them in the books that I read.
So the books that help to change my mindset
One of those was a book titled Rich Dad Poor Dad.
If you’ve never heard of it then neither had I, only up and till I said to myself I need to do something different I need to change my environment I need to change how I work or my job, because these things were not fulfilling to me and had a clamp on my mind, stopping me from doing or going after what would excite me and bring joy to me in my environment and workplace.
So in this simple but to the point book authored by a man named Robert Kiyosaki, he goes on to explain these problems that I have had all my life…furthermore he explains the antidote for them and it’s again going back to the mindset first.
He explains what I call the number 2 major problem in my life …yep money! You’ve either got too much of it or you’ve too less of it.
Can you guess which one I’ve got?
I had too less of it even when I had a job and was working….and this use to frustrate me like mad…because I had the subconscious believe that when you have a job you’ll have enough money to buy what you want and need. But it just doesn’t go that way most of the time, depending on your skill set and income that it brings, hence I said skills set, yeah adding value to ourselves first increases our ability and need for in any market place. Thus enlarging our income as a result.
When I was growing up as a teenager I knew nothing of the sort. If the people that were close to me or around me at that time didn’t know aswell, then how the heck am I going to know? Which I didn’t, so I just plodded along with this false concept…in my mind, not knowing the other half. Because there’s always two sides of just about everything; hot and cold, wet and dry, intelligent and stupid, in the know-how and ignorance.
So how would I know?
I had to get into other peoples worlds and find out what they know, because I knew deep down inside of me that there’s got to be something else, I just didn’t know how to find it and refine it.
So I used books, to get into people’s worlds and find out what’s going on with me and my thoughts. Because I thought about all the people that I knew none of them were doing anything out of the normal.
Robert Kiyosaki: Explained to me in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad
The idea and physical achievement of making your money work for you.
This statement had never ever been said to me throughout my entire life up and till I read his book, I was so delighted to read that and at the same time so angry that I never knew this, and I think hence that’s why you’ll get those people that do know this, publishing books or the sort, stating “ for example “ the secrets to wealth” or “ the secrets of anything” it’s because our minds don’t have these ideas within us, the mindset files , words really are powerful and uplifting just as much as they are powerful in keeping you in a low state of mind and of despair or unhappiness or just a feeling of being lost in life.
Beware of information overload though.
Yes I got into a state of information overload, I started reading one book then found another title of a similar book and so on, finding myself mixing up knowledge, a kind of stop start effect, I mean reading one book three thirds of the way or less and then starting to read another and I haven’t finish the first, or just buying books and not reading them, just having them on the shelf collecting dust.
Or PDF’s stuffed onto my laptop, never to be read just taking up data memory for no benefit to me. I had to stop this confusing habit I had fallen into, due to my impatience of wanting this knowledge quickly.
Jumping from teacher to teacher is also just as bad, because they’ll have conflicting views on some things which again can lead a person into confusion regarding the subject, so I suggest sticking with a teacher that has vast knowledge on the subject your learning until you understand and put into action that knowledge and then move on to other teachers if possible.
I really recommend
So to sum up I really recommend anyone that loves to read or would like to change their mindset to buy and read Rich Dad Poor Dad.
People say knowledge is POWER.
But I say KNOWLEGDE is only POWER when learnt and used and used correctly .There’s many a people out there that have knowledge but don’t use it or use it incorrectly.
Hence the saying: Like a donkey that carries all the merchandise on its back, but does not benefit from it.
Books that have helped me change my mindset.
